What I Wore Today – The Perfect Day

This weekend has officially been the best welcome to March – what started as a stressful and overwhelming week has turned into something far more relaxing and fun.

I drove home for the weekend on Thursday afternoon and have had so much fun since I’ve been back! On Friday I went shopping in Bath with my Mum which was lovely! Saturday was my Dad’s birthday so I spent the day with my Family just relaxing and going out for an evening meal. Sunday was the cherry on top of an already lovely weekend especially because the weather was so amazing!

I met with a few friends in the morning and we decided to drive to Burton Bradstock, a small beach in Dorset. Living on the coast is the best thing ever and I miss it so much when I’m at Uni so getting the chance to go home and have a walk on the beach is one of my favourite things to do!  Even though it was super sunny the beach was still cold (obviously) I really was hopeful that it was now summer and I could get away with no coat!

I had a little help from my favourite critter whilst taking the images for this post! Seeing my pets is always one of the main reasons I have to go home because I miss them so much when I’m away. Mischief is my dog, but she really believes that she’s human – and she wanted to be next to me in all of my photos! She’s adorable.

When I was in Bath with my mum I picked up a few new things including this t-shirt. It was one of the only things I saw and instantly fell in love with- I also saw a pink skirt that would go with it SO well but I managed to resist, proud of myself! On Saturday I popped into town with my sister Elspeth (who also took these pics! Thanks els) and found these beautiful sunglasses! I saw them and again fell instantly in love. Who needs boys when you have clothes!

Challenge 2015 – What I Wore Today – Booking a Trip to Paris

I should probably start this post with another apology – because the dress I’m wearing here is new! Well, it came in my ASOS package with my top from my previous post! But that IS it now, I don’t think I have anything else that’s new!

This outfit is actually from yesterday, maybe one of my 2015 challenges should be to post my blogs on the right days! I still have a queue of posts waiting from June!

Yesterday was just a casual day at uni, but we didn’t have to be in until 11am so I had lots of time to do things in the morning, which I really like! We had a portfolio review to decide what work to keep in our portfolios and what work is now out dated and should be gotten rid of! It was one of those days where you spend a lot of time waiting and not a lot of time doing, but I don’t mind because sometimes it’s good to relax!

My day got considerably more exciting at about 7pm because I BOOKED FLIGHTS TO PARIS!

I’ve decided that for my Final Major Project I want to take inspiration from the Palace of Versailles and its baroque architecture. I’m really excited to visit, but also a little bit nervous as it’s so last minute! With everything that’s going on in Paris at the moment I felt a little bit scared to go alone so luckily my mum’s agreed to go with me! It will be nice to have an adult chaperone for once! I’m sure I’d be fine on my own, but it will be really fun for my mum to come along too.

Anyway, this is my outfit from my super exciting day!

A Sweet Affair

At the weekend Jenny, Paige and I decided to explore a little bit more of Coventry and visit FarGo Village which is just off of Far Gosford Street in Coventry.

It was a little bit of a surprise to see such an inspiring and creative space in dull old Coventry. I’d heard of it before, obviously as I’ve been connected with Coventry for the last few years of being at University here, but I wasn’t expecting such a contrast in what it’s like. The only way I can describe it would be like a luxury creative space with unique and contemporary outlets.

On the FarGo Village website (Click here) they say they’re ‘bringing a piece of the Camden and Brick Lane independent shopping vibe to Coventry’ which I think is exactly how it feels. It’s really nice to see someone trying to bring something new to Coventry and hopefully get rid of its reputation for being so dull and boring!

FarGo Village has spaces for niche and unique retailers, artists studios, crafts, cafés, markets and areas for entertainment. Businesses are able to set up here because the rent is so cheap, which is so amazing because they’ve made the site so creative and interesting as well.

When we visited we had a little look around, and Jenny also wanted to take a few photos of us as a little practice as shes studying photography!

You can see her blog here!

This was literally the perfect backdrop for a couple of photos, although I’m far from the perfect model it was really fun to mess around and take a couple of snaps that I could possibly put on here to show my outfit!

I literally just threw this outfit together as it was a Saturday, and I didn’t have anywhere else to go, I just wanted to feel comfortable and warm!

I’ve wanted to try and push myself to put better outfits together for a while now, and I see no better way than forcing myself to do so by posting them on the internet.

Working in the fashion industry I feel like there’s no time to be lazy when getting dressed in the morning, and each outfit really needs to represent myself and my own style, rather than what everyone else is either wearing, or telling me to wear!
